Yulia Svyrydenko discussed with Julia Klöckner issues of cooperation between Ukraine and Germany in the field of defense and energy
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko held a meeting in Kyiv with President of the German Bundestag, Julia Klöckner, who is on her first official visit to Ukraine in this position.
The Head of the Ukrainian Government thanked her interlocutor for the consistent support for our state, above all for defense assistance, which is critically important for the security of Ukraine and the whole of Europe.
The parties discussed strengthening cooperation in the field of joint defense production of drones and interceptors, as well as dual-use products. “We also see strong prospects for cooperation in military training: German instructors are already training our service members, while Ukraine’s Defense Forces have unique battlefield experience that we are ready to share with our European partners to enhance our collective security,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
Yulia Svyrydenko also informed the President about the Regional Energy Resilience Plans, which the Ukrainian Government is implementing together with the regions and communities.
“Germany can play a leading role in this work. The support packages Germany continues to provide are already boosting the energy autonomy of communities and will help us prepare for the coming heating seasons amid russia’s ongoing threats,” the Prime Minister noted.
