Yulia Svyrydenko instructs State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection to oversee implementation of Government decision on recalculation of utility charges from 1 January
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko has instructed the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection to ensure oversight and control over service providers’ compliance with the Government decision on the recalculation of utility charges, and to respond to every instance of consumer rights violations. This was discussed during a meeting between the Head of Government and the Head of the State Service, Serhii Tkachuk.
“The recalculation must be carried out by the service providers themselves, the utility companies. It should happen automatically for the period from 1 January, without requiring additional applications from residents, and should be reflected in February bills. The decision applies to heating, water supply, and household waste collection.
People should pay only for the services they actually receive. If heat and water were unavailable due to enemy attacks, consumers must not be overcharged,” emphasised Yulia Svyrydenko.
