
eOselia: over the past week, Ukrainians received preferential mortgage loans worth UAH 140 million
Last week, 92 Ukrainians received loans for the purchase of housing under the eOselia (eHousing) programme for a total of UAH 139.3 million. Since the launch of the programme, 2,555 families have already received preferential mortgage loans worth UAH 3.59 billion.
“Since 1 August, the Government has expanded the eOselia programme and all Ukrainians in need of their own housing can get a mortgage loan at 7%. Last week, we also increased funding for the programme, so even more Ukrainian families will be able to buy a home. We expect to issue at least 10,000 loans by the end of this year. Last week alone, almost a hundred Ukrainians took out mortgage loans and will soon be able to move into their own homes,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
In particular, last week Ukrainians received 92 loans worth UAH 139.3 million under the eOselia programme. Among them:
- 70 service members and law enforcement officers, 9 teachers, 6 doctors and 4 scientists received loans at 3%;
- 3 Ukrainians without their own housing received loans at 7%.
Most often, loans were received to purchase housing on the secondary market (64 loans) and from a developer (26). Two Ukrainians also took out loans to buy apartments under construction.
Most mortgage loans were received by residents of:
- Kyiv region – 31;
- Kyiv city – 20;
- Vinnytsia region – 7;
- Chernihiv region – 6;
- Khmelnytsky and Lviv regions – 5 each.
As of today, 6 banks offer loans under the eOselia programme. Over the past week, Oschadbank (42 loans), Ukrgasbank (30 loans) and Privatbank (16 loans) issued the largest number of such loans.
The affordable lending programme is now available to representatives of certain professions and people who do not own housing or want to improve its conditions. For contract servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, teachers, doctors and scientists, the preferential rate is 3% per annum. For other categories – combatants, veterans, IDPs and other citizens – the mortgage rate is 7%.
Background
The eOselia (eHousing) programme was launched in October last year. The programme is implemented by the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Ukrfinzhytlo and Diia. The partner banks are Oschadbank, Privatbank, Ukrgasbank, Globus Bank, Sky Bank and Ukreximbank.
