eOselia: over 6,000 Ukrainian families received loans to purchase housing

A total of 6,073 families received loans under the eOselia (eHousing) programme totalling more than UAH 9 billion. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Nadiya Bihun.

“Thanks to the eOselia affordable lending programme, even more Ukrainian families have been able to improve their living conditions. As of today, mortgage agreements have already been concluded for more than UAH 9 billion. In particular, 262 loans worth UAH 422.1 million were disbursed last week,” Nadiya Bihun noted.

Thus, over the past week, loans at 3% were granted to: 136 service members and law enforcement officers; 25 teachers; 20 doctors; 5 scientists.

In addition, loans at 7% were received by: 73 Ukrainians without their own housing; 2 IDPs; and 1 veteran.

The largest number of mortgage loans were taken out by residents of: Kyiv city – 65, Kyiv region – 52, Lviv region – 15, Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi regions – 13, Rivne, Odesa and Volyn regions – 10.

Most often, loans were taken to purchase housing on the secondary market (204 loans) and from a developer (50 loans). In addition, 8 Ukrainians took out loans to purchase housing in newly constructed buildings.

The affordable lending programme is now available to representatives of certain professions and people who do not own housing or want to improve its conditions. For contract service members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, teachers, doctors and scientists, the preferential rate is 3% per annum. For other categories – combatants, veterans, IDPs and other citizens – the mortgage rate is 7%.

Background

The eOselia programme was launched in October last year. The programme is implemented by the Ministry of Economy jointly with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Ukrfinzhytlo. The partner banks of the programme are Oschadbank, Privatbank, Ukrgasbank, Globus Bank, Sky Bank, Ukreximbank and Sense Bank.
