The Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine hosted a working meeting with representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine.
During the meeting, they discussed the current state and prospects of the development of nuclear energy of Ukraine and plans for cooperation with the Japanese side in the framework of implementation of joint projects.
Representatives of the Ministry stressed that the Ukrainian side is interested in cooperation with other countries both in the domain of instrument engineering, and in the directions promoting the development and modernization of the energy sector of Ukraine.
The Japanese party announced the intention to cooperate with Ukraine to upgrade equipment for the nuclear energy sector, in particular, to manufacture and modernize turbines, in particular for nuclear energy facilities in third countries, and announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between PJSC Turboatom and Toshiba Energy Systems, scheduled for June 2018.
