  • Prime Minister visited schoolchildren who became victims of the accident in Cherkasy

    Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman arrived in Cherkasy and visited the Cherkasy Regional Children's Hospital, where there are schoolchildren who were hospitalized this morning because of poisoning with an unknown substance. The Head of the Government together with Acting Minister of Healthcare of Ukraine Ulana Suprun, Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Mykola Chechiotkin and a group of specialist doctors from Kyiv visited children.

    Kids underwent all medical examinations. Doctors of the Ministry of Healthcare who are providing counseling stay in the hospital. At present, 50 children are under medical treatment,  including 11 - in intensive care. Their condition is estimated as satisfactory.

    The Head of Government held a meeting of the operational headquarters to investigate the causes of the incident.

    "We are working to find out what happened. I call on the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine. There may have been coordinated actions. It is important to investigate. It is necessary to get a whole picture of the situation. Government provides assistance to the full extent. I commissioned the State Emergency Service and the Ministry of Health to improve coordinative actions. I am waiting for a report on the development of the situation", the Prime Minister underscored.
