The security of Europe and the entire world would be threatened even more, unless the aggressor realises that the response to his actions is firm. And if we do not win together in the fight against the invader, it will approach the borders of the European Union. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a meeting with the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs). Parliamentarians are staying in Ukraine on their third visit. They toured a number of cities in the country, first of all in the east of Ukraine, and saw in the first hand the situation in the territories adjacent to the confrontation line and in other regions.

"This is our third stay in Ukraine. And it shows our dedication, we are attached to the security situation of Ukraine and how much we support your struggle for the territorial integrity. We have been preparing this visit for 6 months", said European Parliament Member Anna Elżbieta Fotyga. "We express our sincere gratitude for enabling us to visit the east. And I thank the Ukrainian military - without the Ukrainian army, this visit would not have been possible (for security reasons)."

"There will be more security threats - until the aggressor realizes that the response to his actions will be hard-line. If we do not succeed in this fight, the aggressor state will approach the borders of the European Union. I assure you we will be strong enough (to deter aggression). And it is impossible to make concessions", Volodymyr Groysman stressed. "We must stick to our historical responsibility and prevention of the proliferation of authoritarianism. We must think about common actions to be done in order to enhance defense and rule of law".

The Head of Government stressed that the European direction of development of Ukraine is undeniable. "And it is very symbolic that our today's meeting is taking place, while the constitutional amendments consolidating the European and Euro-Atlantic vector of development of our state are being considered by the Parliament," he said.

The sides emphasized that Ukraine’s aspirations are backed by concrete actions, namely by deepening decentralization and introducing changes in the social sphere. Internal transformations need to be maintained and be irreversible. The more so as the process of integration of our state into the common energy, economic and digital space of Europe is underway.

In this context, MEPs noted that the European Union stands ready to continue to provide our country with all the necessary assistance in implementing changes. Particularly during the upcoming election period - both in Ukraine and in the European Union.
