September 19, Minister for the Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine Vadym Chernysh held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Moldova to Ukraine Ruslan Bolbochan to exchange experience in the area of reconciliation, reintegration of the population of the occupied territories and peace building.
During the meeting, Vadym Chernysh briefed the delegation on key strategic government documents, including the plan for the reintegration of the occupied territories and the Targeted State Program for Recovery and Peacebuilding in the Eastern Regions of Ukraine.
"The Targeted Program envisages the restoration of critical infrastructure and social services in education, health care, social protection, energy, heating and gas supply, transport, water supply, environmental protection, physical culture and sports, creation of conditions to improve employment level, supporting business and expanding access to financial services, development of industry, construction, agriculture, etc.", stressed the Minister.
"Implementation of the Program shall ensure the consolidation of efforts of central and local executive authorities, non-governmental organizations and the international community in the process of restoring and building peace in the eastern regions of Ukraine, as well as socio-economic development of host communities. The entire spectrum of the reintegration plan is aimed at ensuring that the citizens of Ukraine who are in the temporarily occupied territories could feel support of their state, see that they are an important part of the Ukrainian society, that they and their childer are taken care about and created all the necessary conditions to ensure their reintegration", the Minister added.
Participants of the event also discussed the current state and prospects of conflict settlement, which are ongoing in both countries, the restoration of critical infrastructure, as well as a number of urgent issues that arose as a result of armed aggression.
Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic said that Ukraine has made a huge progress in restoring the country's territorial integrity. Moreover, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that in the context of the armed aggression of Russia, Ukraine and Moldova should unite efforts to work together aimed to develop joint constructive decisions and to make progress on restoring confidence and building peace.
During the meeting, the parties considered the full range of further interaction, as well as reached accord on bilateral cooperation. For a more detailed study of the experience of reintegration of the population, Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic invited Vadym Chernysh to visit Moldova.
