'Winter thousand' payments continue — almost 14 million Ukrainians received assistance

As part of the Winter Support programme rolled out by the Government at the initiative of the President of Ukraine, 13.7 million Ukrainians have received UAH 1,000 in assistance, including 658,000 over the past week. These are people who applied through the Diia app, including for children. As of today, all applications up to and including 17 December have been funded.

At the same time, payments continue through Ukrposhta — funding is gradually being transferred for applications submitted between 15 and 30 November.

The deadline for applications is 24 December 2025. An assistance can be applied for online through Diia or in writing at the nearest Ukrposhta branch, of which there are over 26,000 throughout Ukraine. To date, 17.7 million Ukrainians have submitted applications — 14 million through Diia and 1.7 million through Ukrposhta. For almost 2 million people, the payment was generated automatically — these are recipients of pensions or social benefits through Ukrposhta.

The UAH 1,000 hryvnia assistance can be spent on utilities and postal services, Ukrainian-made goods such as medicines, books, and food, as well as on charity. Currently, Ukrainians have spent over UAH 7 billion using the National Cashback card. The most popular expenses are utilities, medicines, and food.

Funds can be spent using the National Cashback card until 30 June 2026. Ukrainians who receive pensions and social benefits through Ukrposhta or who have independently submitted an application at branches will have an opportunity to spend the ‘winter thousand’ by the end of the year.

There are 10 retail chains where customers can spend their funds on food products: Fozzy Group (Silpo, Fora, THRASH!ТРАШ!, Fozzy), Blyzenko, Auchan, SPAR, VARUS, Torba, Sim23, and Simi. There are 1,780 stores in total, and you can also shop online on the MAUDAU marketplace.

As a reminder, more than 414,000 Ukrainians have applied for an additional UAH 6,500 as part of the Winter Support programme.
