
Volodymyr Lapa took part in meeting of Ukraine-U.S. Trade and Investment Council in Washington
Volodymyr Lapa, Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, participated in the 8th meeting of the Ukraine-U.S. Trade and Investment Council in Washington DC, chaired by First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine/ Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv with the participation of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the USA Valery Chaly.
The parties, among other things, discussed the issues of necessary legal framework to regulate the market for plant protection products regarding their registration, the implementation of phytosanitary procedures of grain exports, the tax regime for exporting rapeseed and soya, and possible measures to increase the transparency of the functioning of the grain market, in particular the reduction of the gray segment of this market.
Volodymyr Lapa informed his colleagues about the work of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and progress in the implementation of European legislation, taking into account the international obligations of Ukraine.
During the meeting, the sides tackled bilateral trade, access to markets, in particular, requirements for the import of animal products in Ukraine, as well as progress in the approval of bilateral forms of certificates.
