In the Diia app, Ukrainians will be able to apply for a free exchange of old incandescent lamps for energy-saving LED lamps. Switching to this type of lamps will save 15 times more energy.
Due to regular shelling of energy infrastructure facilities by russia, Ukrainians are forced to save electricity and live according to blackout schedules. Now it is important to consciously and rationally use electrical appliances. Even turning off the light in a room where you are not present can affect the work of the energy sector as a whole.
According to NPC Ukrenergo, Ukrainians use up to 40% of electricity in their own homes. At the same time, according to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, they use a significant number of incandescent lamps at home, which on average consume almost eight times more electricity than modern LED lamps.
What is the solution?
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy initiated an energy saving program for the population. In the Diia application, Ukrainians will be able to apply for the exchange of 5 old incandescent lamps for 5 energy-saving LED lamps. Then go to the Ukrposhta office and receive the lamps.
Thanks to the application in Diia, you will know for sure that LED lamps are available at the Ukrposhta branch and you will be guaranteed to receive your 5 LED lamps.
At the first stage, 15 million lamps will be available for exchange, which will arrive gradually over several weeks. First of all, regional centers and large cities will provide the greatest savings effect. By the end of February, the bulbs should reach the smallest villages.
What effect will it bring?
According to experts, the transition to LED lamps will allow to consume 7-10% less electricity at peak times. This will help to significantly reduce the shortage of electricity in the system.
We are currently conducting a beta test of the service, which will start on January 16. At the testing stage, the service will be available in Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Odesa and Lviv.
The citizens of Ukraine eligible to exchange those who
have reached the age of 18;
have a verified tax payer's account card number;
have not previously received light bulbs at Ukrposhta.
The service in the Diia application is implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation together with the Ministry of Economy with the support of the European Union and JSC Ukrposhta.
