Therefore, the winner of the auction for pre-design works has already been determined. This was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Kryklii.

"We continue gearing up for the design and construction of a new airport in Zakarpattia. The winner of the auction for pre-design works has already been chosen and announced. The expected spending was UAH 5 million, but the winner will perform works for UAH 4,220,000. A relevant agreement will be signed in the near future. A total of 7 companies took part in the auction.

Based on the results of pre-design works, the location of the airport will be determined - in the village of Seredny or Mukachevo. And after that, the design activities will start at once," the Minister explained.

According to Vladyslav Kryklii, the new airport should become not only an infrastructure project of the state, but also a significant private investment in the development of the Zakarpattia region, as the project is planned to be implemented with the involvement of public-private partnership mechanisms. It is estimated that the construction of the airport will take up to 3 years.

It should be noted that UAH 2.4 billion from the state budget in 2021 will be spent on the development of regional airports. UAH 1.4 billion will be directed on the construction of a new airdrome in Dnipro, UAH 1 billion - on the airports in Rivne, Kherson and Vinnytsia. In addition, another UAH 30 million has been allocated for the design of a new airport in Zakarpattia.
