  • Government is launching a broad discussion of the National Economic Strategy 2030

    From January 22 to February 10, the Cabinet of Ministers will hold a broad discussion of the National Economic Strategy 2030, which is being developed by the Working Group of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the platform of the Centre for Economic Recovery.

    During the public events with the participation of representatives of the Government, the Verkhovna Rada and the Office of the President, there will take place a public presentation of key ideas of NES-2030 and a discussion of ways to implement it.

    The key purpose of the measures is to develop and submit to the Cabinet of Ministers a draft decision of the Government on economic policy-shaping until 2030, to discuss priority measures in the Government Action Plan for 2021-2023 and a list of priority laws to be adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during the next three years.

    Topics of discussion during the scheduled meetings:

    • Investment attractiveness, capital markets and macroeconomic stability;
    • Support for the creative and hospitality industries;
    • Development of business culture and regulatory policy;
    • Development of the energy sector, mining industry and effective environmental protection;
    • Industry, transport and infrastructure;
    • International Economic Policy and Trade (Export Credit Agency);
    • Digital Economy and Information and Computer Technologies;
    • Management of state and communal property;
    • Reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine;
    • Development of the agricultural sector.

    The National Economic Strategy includes the main vectors for Ukraine's economy to develop in the next 10 years: incentives for industry, agriculture, mining, IT and R&D, infrastructure and domestic transport, energy sector.

    The process of drafting NES-2030 was unprecedentedly open and transparent. About 400 specialists from various fields have been working on the document - both business and well-known research organizations, think-tanks, non-governmental organizations, government agencies, etc.

    To develop NES-2030, analysts conducted more than 500 interviews with experts and dozens of strategic sessions, studied the experience of the Great Britain, Germany, Poland, Australia, Arab countries, where such long-term economic strategies have already been successfully implemented. Apart from reflecting the economic potential of the state, this document also offers specific mechanisms for its implementation with clear deadlines and KPIs. This is the approach of developed countries to the creation of such strategic documents.
