According to the results of the monitoring of socio-economic development of regions for 2018, which was released by the Ministry of Regional Development, among those demonstrating the best performance were Kharkiv, Rivne, Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk regions and the city of Kyiv. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko.
The worst indicators were demonstrated by Mykolayiv, Odesa, Chernihiv, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Ranking assessment of socio-economic development of the regions was started in 2015. Based on these statistics, regions are evaluated quarterly by 27 indicators in 6 sectors and annually by 64 indicators in 12 sectors. Such an assessment is an element of a new system for the monitoring of the implementation of the state regional policy and determining the dynamics of change. Ranking showings is an indicator of the effectiveness of managerial decisions at the central and local levels.
