On June 2, the Minister of Defence Andrii Taran met with the US Senators Jeanne Shaheen, Robert Portman and Christopher Murphy.

During the conversation, Andrii Taran briefed the American side on the security situation around Ukraine's borders, modalities of its further development, as well as the state of strengthening the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In this regard, the Ukrainian Defence Minister thanked the United States for their comprehensive support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and stressed the importance of deepening bilateral political and military cooperation in order to reach common goals of global and regional security.

The US Senators indicated that the United States is closely monitoring the development of the security situation around our country and reiterated their support of Ukraine in the peaceful settlement of the conflict on the basis of the Minsk agreements. It was stressed that the visit of the US Senate delegation to Ukraine is a clear demonstration of bipartisan support of our state, which remains unwavering.
