President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with businesses in Rivne region. The meeting was also attended by Vitalii Koval, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

According to the Minister of Agrarian Policy, the President of Ukraine agreed with an initiative to create support programmes for farmers lasting 3-7 years. In addition, state-owned agricultural land should not be idle, but should contribute to the budget.

"Government support programmes for the agricultural sector should be predictable and long-term, working for the future, not just for a short period of time. This is about stability for Ukrainian farmers, especially in livestock farming and long-term investment projects. We have already started elaborating the relevant programmes," said Vitalii Koval.

According to the Minister, another key area is the efficient use of state-owned land. Those agricultural plots that are idle or used inefficiently will be transferred for transparent lease through Prozorro.Sale as part of the Land Bank project. The state budget of a country at war should be filled from internal reserves.

"The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food continues to work systematically to support Ukraine's agricultural sector. Our goal is to create predictable and long-term conditions for agricultural development, ensure stability for farmers, support livestock farming and attract investments in strategically important projects," Vitalii Koval summed up.
