Vitalii Kim discusses further support for veteran policy development in Ukraine with U.S. Embassy team

Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Vitalii Kim held a working meeting with representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine — Pamela Foster, Senior Health Program Manager, Xerses Sidhwa, Senior Humanitarian Program Manager, as well as representatives of the Rehab4U project.

Deputy Ministers, veteran Ruslan Prykhodko and Oleh Shymanskyi, also joined the meeting.

The Minister thanked American partners for targeted veteran support programs, their contribution to the development of veteran policy in Ukraine, and emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation. In particular, he highlighted U.S. experience in building veteran communities, associations, and legislative regulation of veteran policy.

Oleksii Yaremenko, Head of the Rehab4U project, presented the results of the project’s work in 2025–2026 and outlined key areas of activity for 2026–2027. Priorities include expanding support for establishing Veteran Care Spaces in medical institutions and continuing professional development of veteran support specialists working in healthcare facilities.

Following the meeting, the U.S. Embassy and the Ministry of Veterans Affairs agreed to continue dialogue on priority areas of cooperation in veteran policy and the implementation of joint veteran support programs.
