  • Only teamwork of the President, Government, Verkhovna Rada, local authorities and the entire population will allow to contain coronavirus

    The authorities exert every effort to organize the return of citizens of Ukraine to their homeland. This was announced at a briefing by Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. He noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Infrastructure together with the SkyUp Airlines have agreed on irregular flights to return citizens from the list of cities.

    "The SkyUp Airlines opens sales of tickets for non-scheduled flights from the following cities: Paris, Alicante, Stockholm, Vienna, Warsaw, Prague, Tbilisi, Lisbon, Munich, Naples, Frankfurt, Prague, Tallinn, Zurich, Istanbul, Barcelona, London," he noted and added that the company website offers tickets at preferential prices to get back to Ukraine.

    Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Kryklii is convinced that other carriers will also join the process of returning Ukrainian citizens. He also recalled that the Government had adopted a Resolution on price regulation in order to avoid the ticket price speculation.

    Besides, Vladyslav Kryklii informed that special trains from the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland would be sent so that Ukrainian citizens can return back home.

    "Ukrainians can return to Ukraine without any restrictions," he said.

    Commenting on the changes in transport schedules and traffic restrictions, the Minister stressed that all measures are being taken to guarantee the safety of the population: "Restriction on movement is the most effective way, as we can see in the examples of European countries that have followed the WHO recommendations to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection."

    Deputy Minister of Health - Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Viktor Liashko supported measures to reduce mobility, and other restrictive and anti-epidemiological steps. He reported that 14 cases of coronavirus disease have been confirmed in Ukraine. Of these, 2 cases in Kyiv, 1 - in Kyiv region, 1 - in Zhytomyr region, all others - in Chernivtsi region.

    Victor Liashko called on citizens to observe the rules of hygiene and safety for the established term: "If possible, do not leave your home, reduce the use of public transport, do not contact or approach 1.5 meters closer to people".

    He said that work is now underway to organize a delivery line for the elderly. "We are working with a group of volunteers to help deliver food," he told.

    "Without your conscientious approach, we will not be able to contain coronavirus disease. Only teamwork of the President, the Government, the Verkhovna Rada and the whole population of Ukraine will ensure a positive result and will allow us to preserve our healthcare system that will enable for effective treatment of not only coronavirus but other diseases as well," he appealed to Ukrainians.
