The process of launching operation of the newly established Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine lasted a little over a month.
"The objective set to me by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal is to make the systems work within the Ministry of Environmental Protection in a brief term. By now, the Ministry has its Regulations, approved the structure of the staff, the payroll schedule and estimates. As of August 5, 2020, more than 30% of the full-time staff size has been filled. From now on, we can fully focus on the formation and implementation of state environmental policy and the effective execution of reforms," said Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Roman Abramovskyy.
It is worth mention that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, at its meeting on May 27, set up the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources.
On June 19, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appointed Roman Abramovskyy as Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine. On the same day, a new legal entity was registered - the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.
