  • Ukrainian-Polish Intergovernmental Commission holds meeting in Lviv

    Lviv hosted a meeting of the Ukrainian-Polish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.

    The Ukrainian delegation was headed by Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk. The Polish delegation was headed by Krzysztof Hetman, Minister of Economic Development and Technology of the Republic of Poland.

    The participants discussed cooperation in the areas of trade and investment, energy, environmental protection, agriculture, transport and infrastructure, credit and customs, defense industry, veterans' policy, etc.

    The participants of the meeting reviewed the status and conditions of the Brody-Adamowo Oil Pipeline Project and confirmed the strategic importance of the Project for strengthening the energy security of both Ukraine and Poland, as well as other countries in the region.

    In addition, the meeting resulted in an agreement to modernize the Shehyni border checkpoint.

    Iryna Vereshchuk thanked the participants for their joint work and expressed hope that the Commission would become one of the platforms for intensifying cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Poland.

    "I am confident that all the agreements reached as a result of our meeting will be implemented and will have a significant impact on the further development of mutually beneficial economic cooperation between our countries," the Deputy Prime Minister summarized.
