On January 31, 2023, in preparation for participation of an official delegation of the Government of Ukraine in the 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, taking place on March 6-17, 2023 in New York, a coordination meeting was held chaired by Kateryna Levchenko, Government Commissioner for Gender Policy and Head of the Interagency Working Group (IWG) on Combating Sexual Violence Related to russia’s Armed Aggression against Ukraine and Assisting Victims. The meeting involved co-chairs of 5 IWG subgroups: Justice and Accountability, Provision of Comprehensive Services to Victims, Strengthening Capacity of Security and Defense Sector to Prevent CRSV, Tracking Trafficking in Persons for Sexual Exploitation in Conflict, and Reparations and Compensation.
The meeting discussed the mechanism for monitoring progress of the Plan for the Implementation of the Framework of Cooperation between the Government of Ukraine and the United Nations in prevention of and response to conflict related sexual violence (the Implementation Plan), which was approved on September 15, 2022 by the Commission for Coordination of Interaction of Executive Authorities on Ensuring Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna.
The results of the Implementation Plan progress monitoring will be presented during participation of the official delegation of the Government of Ukraine in the 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women.
