Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the draft State Budget for 2019 prepared by the Government of Ukraine which was supported by 240 MPs.
The Parliament also approved draft amendments to the Budget and Tax Codes, which, among other things, provide a resource framework for filling the budget.
The draft State Budget envisages a GDP growth and gradual reduction of the deficit and the debt burden. In the document there were preserved all priority areas of financing, among which financing of the army and security sector, the continuation of social programs, including the Available Medicines, subsidies monetization, automatic pension adjustment, etc. Moreover, there have been preserved the programs of support of industries, primarily agrarian sector and subsoil use, construction and road network rehabilitation. The document is balanced and complies with the principles of cooperation with one of the key financial partners - the International Monetary Fund.
In his address to the parliamentarians, the Head of Government stressed that today the destiny of millions of Ukrainians was at stake. "Our main mission is to ensure stability and development. And the budget is a tool for the implementation of our programs", said Volodymyr Groysman. "We will expend efforts to ensure Ukraine’s development and growth."
