On April 2, 2020, on commission of the Prime Minister of Ukraine, a single mechanism for coordinating the provision of international assistance to Ukraine in combating the spread of the coronavirus has been established by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine.
“Information regarding the need to curb coronavirus infecting will be collected in one place. We are redirecting the resources of our Office and several other organizations to quickly process the data and to attract all available opportunities to meet the urgent needs to counteract the spread of the coronavirus in Ukraine,” comments Vadym Prystaiko.
The Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine added that such an instrument of interaction would allow accelerating communication of Ukraine with international partners and organizations expressing readiness to provide assistance, in particular humanitarian, financial and logistical.
“I call on all central authorities to immediately collect and direct information on any needs that will allow the Government to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and to provide appropriate treatment for those who have got ill. Including protective equipment for healthcare specialists at the forefront of the epidemic,” Vadym Prystaiko stressed.
Information gathering will be a centralized process conducted through state and local authorities, including the Ministry of Health, State Emergency Service having in subordination hospitals, support centers and other facilities. In order to prevent duplication of information, the information will be collected within the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine.
