Today, on September 12, the Ministry of Infrastructure announces the beginning of competitive and transparent concession tenders for the seaports of Olvia (Mykolaiv) and Kherson.
“The concession is a super progressive lease. We transfer to concession critical property (airports, hospitals, port infrastructure) that the state cannot manage effectively to enable the private investor improving it and providing better quality services. Each concession is based on the highest quality of service to the population”, comments the start of procedures Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk.
Pilot projects for the concession of the seaports Olvia and Kherson will be an indication of Ukraine's readiness for public-private partnership, in the future, this practice is planned to be extended to other large infrastructural objects - roads, hospitals, social infrastructure objects.
“The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine supports the development of the seaports industry as the main gateway to the Ukrainian economy. A concession is one of our key strategies to increase efficiency and attract private investment in public port assets. We urge all private investors to take part in these tenders and take the opportunity to benefit from Ukraine's considerable potential for growth”, said Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Kryklii.
Detailed information about the first concession projects is available in the Ministry of Infrastructure.
