The fifth stage of vaccination against COVID-19 began in Ukraine on July 21. From now on, all categories of citizens, regardless of age and profession, can receive the vaccine. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
"Meanwhile, groups such as doctors, educators, social workers, the military, the elderly and people with concurrent illnesses remain a priority for the Government. It’s because these groups are in the zone of highest risk and most vulnerable to COVID-19. They will further be given priority in immunization," the Prime Minister said.
The Head of Government noted that almost 4.3 million vaccinations had been given in Ukraine so far: almost 2.8 million Ukrainians have received their first vaccine, and 1.5 million have completed vaccination with two doses. By the end of the summer, Ukraine has agreed to delivery of another 13 million doses of the vaccine.
