Ukraine fully restores 410 war-damaged healthcare facilities, with another 413 in the process of restoration
As of mid-October, 823 healthcare facilities have been fully or partially restored in Ukraine. Of these, 410 facilities have been fully restored and a further 413 have been partially restored. Most of the restored medical facilities are located in Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions.
Today, the restoration of the medical infrastructure is a priority for the Government. Indeed, every patient in every corner of Ukraine should have unhindered access to the medical care they need.
That is why, despite systematic shelling and bombing by russia, the Ministry of Health is working with partners to restore the medical infrastructure.
In total, during the 19 months of full-scale war, the enemy damaged 1,449 medical facilities and destroyed another 190 beyond repair. The healthcare infrastructure of Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Kyiv regions suffered the greatest losses.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health announced the restoration of the Regional Centre for Emergency and Disaster Medicine in Chernihiv region, which was damaged by the russian occupiers.
