More than 300,000 people have already used the e-certificate of a veteran. This was announced by Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Ruslan Prykhodko on air of the Yedynyi Novyny (United News) national telethon.
This became possible thanks to the implementation of a joint project of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the Ministry of Digital Transformation to introduce an e- Veteran ID in the Diia mobile application.
“Every veteran, woman veteran, person with a disability resulting from war, member of
of the families of fallen defenders have the opportunity to generate a relevant certificate in Diia along with other documents available there. If a person has been granted the status, he or she only needs to install the Diia app, undergo verification and add choosing from the list of documents an e-Veteran ID. This service is automated. As of today, more than 300,000 e-Veteran IDs have been generated in Diia," said Ruslan Prykhodko.
He reminded that soon the e-Veteran ID would become the main document in Ukraine - the Parliament has recently adopted the relevant amendments to the legislation.
It is also important that in case of loss of a paper Veteran's ID card, a person will use the electronic certificate without any problems.
"This was done so that none of the state authorities would demand any other document when when presenting the e-Veteran's ID card. After all the status of the main veteran's document is granted to the electronic certificate instead of a paper one,” emphasised Ruslan Prykhodko.
As a reminder, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the Ministry of Digital Transformation have launched the e-Veteran's ID in Diia.
The services are being implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation jointly with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine with the support of the Diia Support Project, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in Ukraine (UNDP) in Ukraine with funding from Sweden, and with the expert support of the DT4UA project funded by the European Union and implemented the E-Governance Academy.
