  • Office of Horizon Europe programme to be established in Ukraine: Serhii Shkarlet

    During a briefing at a joint meeting of the Government of Ukraine and the European Commission College, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced support for Ukrainian scientists. In particular, the EU will help establish and finance the work of the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine until the end of 2027.

    Key tasks of the Office:

    • Provide targeted support to Ukrainian researchers in the preparation of grant applications and the search for appropriate partners.
    • Conduct trainings on the preparation of competitive proposals.
    • Promote creation of an active and effective network of national contact points that will provide professional services to Ukrainian researchers and innovators across the country.
    • Provide policy advice on Ukraine’s integration into the European Research Area (ERA).
    • Monitor the implementation of cooperation projects and promote scientific cooperation.
    • Organize targeted information events on opportunities for cooperation in research and innovation.

    “This will become a catalyst for strengthening Ukraine’s participation in the Horizon Europe programme and help preserve Ukraine’s scientific and innovative potential in difficult times for science. We are creating sustainable ties between the research and innovation communities of Ukraine and the EU,” said Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet.

    The work of the Office will facilitate Ukraine’s integration into the European Research Area and strengthen development of our country within the framework of the Ukraine Recovery Plan.
