The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, in the framework of implementation of objectives to provide major overhaul of road network, plans to hear a report from the Ukrautodor State Agency of Motor Roads of Ukraine on the quality control of road building activities in mid-May. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman today, April 13, while on a working trip to Cherkasy region. The Head of Government inspects the progress of work on Kyiv-Odesa route.
"In 2016, a program of major road repairs and construction was launched. This year we will allocate almost UAH 47 billion - serious money we are to spend on roads", said the Head of Government, "We engage in quality control throughout the country. In mid-May, the Ukravtodor will report on all sections. All that will occur a shoddy job won’t be paid for."
The Head of Government also told that Kyiv-Odesa route will be feasible for traffic until May 1.
"Moreover, we continue the five-year program of connecting the regional centers with high-quality roads and the Go-Highway project - from Lviv to Ternopil, Vinnytsia, Uman, Odesa, Mykolaiv and Ternopil", the Head of Government said.
This year, the total road budget exceeds UAH 47 billion – excluding funds obtained as a result of the experiment at the Customs. Of those, over UAH 11 billion will be directed to the implementation of the most promising projects, including the routes M-03 Kyiv - Kharkiv - Dovzhansky, M-12 Lviv - Ternopil - Uman, M-05 Kyiv - Odessa, H-31 Dnipro - Tsarychanka - Kobeliaky - Reshetylivka, H-03 Zhytomyr - Chernivtsi etc.
Subvention to local budgets for the financial support of construction, reconstruction, repair and maintenance of motor roads of local importance, streets and roads of communal property in settlements makes up UAH 11.5 billion.
