On 16 September, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha welcomed Governmental Envoy for the Reconstruction of Ukraine Tomáš Kopečný.
The Minister expressed gratitude to the Czech Side for the comprehensive assistance provided to our country since the beginning of the full-scale russian armed aggression against Ukraine with a particular focus on the Czech Republic’s initiative on the delivery of the artillery shells to Ukraine.
The Head of the Foreign Ministry also expressed his sympathies and readiness to provide aid to the Czech Republic in connection with the floods that cause significant damage to a number of its areas.
“The Czech Republic can count on our help – we are ready to dispatch our rescuers and special equipment to the affected areas. The motion has been approved by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and with the coordination by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal we offered the aid to our partners. We are a country that is ready to help our friends in difficult times,” said Andrii Sybiha.
Later this day Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis met with the Czech delegation and expressed his gratitude for the humanitarian assistance provided by the Czech Republic as part of the implementation of the Humanitarian, Stabilization, Reconstruction and Economic Assistance Program for Ukraine in 2023-2025.
The Ukrainian side noted that Czech projects implemented in Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Lviv regions have made a significant contribution to the restoration of energy, medical and critical infrastructure of our country, which was destroyed by russian missile attacks.
Yevhen Perebyinis also emphasized the importance of the Czech Republic’s assistance to the city of Kharkiv, suffering from constant terrorist attacks of the aggressor state, by providing gas turbines and generators made in the Czech Republic.
The Deputy Minister highlighted the important role of the Czech Republic in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
The Ukrainian side relies on timely delivery of artillery shells under the Czech initiative as well as other types of armaments for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, Yevhen Perebyinis expressed the Ukrainian side’s interest in the participation of Czech officials and Czech companies in the Defence Industries Forum.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on expanding Czech investments in the Ukrainian economy and discussing the readiness of the Government of Ukraine to assist Czech companies in establishing their offices and production facilities in our country.
Yevhen Perebyinis thanked Tomáš Kopečný for his personal contribution to the implementation of recovery projects for Ukraine as well as for his efforts to strengthen the Ukrainian-Czech partnership.
