Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture hosts discussion with FAO further support for agricultural producers in frontline areas
Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine Denys Bashlyk met with Shakhnoza Muminova, who recently assumed the position of Head of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Office in Ukraine. The meeting was also attended by Ihor Klymenok, Head of the State Fisheries Agency.
Denys Bashlyk thanked FAO for its fruitful cooperation during the full-scale invasion, particularly for providing generators, modular grain storage facilities, grain sleeves, and seed materials to agricultural producers in frontline areas.
"Cooperation with FAO has enabled Ukrainian agricultural producers to continue working even during the full-scale invasion. FAO’s support is particularly crucial on Ukraine’s path to European integration and in advancing digital services and digital transformation," Denys Bashlyk emphasized.
Shakhnoza Muminova noted that FAO maintains strong relations with the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture and the Ukrainian Government as a whole, which provides hope for continued effective cooperation across all existing programs.
"Together with the Ukrainian Government, we are working to ensure that the recovery of the agricultural sector evolves into sustainable development. We support the Ministry with expertise and resources, while the Ministry, in turn, supports FAO by creating conditions for the implementation of joint projects. This mutual support enables the creation of solutions that will enhance the competitiveness of Ukrainian producers in global markets," Shakhnoza Muminova stressed.
The parties also discussed FAO’s participation in implementing Ukraine Emergency and Early Recovery Response Plan for 2025-2026, as well as further support for Ukraine’s agricultural sector.
