The healthcare reform initiated by the Government allowed to break the stalemate in the healthcare system, and its results will be felt from year to year, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stated on air of the ICTV channel in The Freedom of Speech program.
"The Ministry of Healthcare was associated as the ministry of procurement. Despite billions allocated to medicine, there were no medicines. Why? The subject is unpopular, complicated, many different interwoven interests. But we have changed the situation. And if we keep doing the things we have defined as a priority, then the situation will become better every year", Volodymyr Groysman said.
He noted that wages of primary care doctors are already being updated. For the second year, the Available Medicines program has been running, under which 25 million recipes have been prescribed. Hospitals are being completed, among them – the Okhmatdyt Children's Clinical Hospital and a network of regional cardiology centers due to the work of which hundreds of patients with heart disease were saved.
"Next year we must ensure a new standard of emergency medicine. New vehicles, new skilled specialists. A sum worth UAH 1 billion was allocated The pilot projects will be kicked off in 5-6 region, and also from July 1, 2019, all medical checkups, in particular, X-ray, referrals for tests from family doctors will be free", the Prime Minister underscored.
