UNHCR, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity, delivered humanitarian aid to social institutions and IDPs in Dnipropetrovsk region
The delivery of humanitarian aid to Dnipropetrovsk region is part of a large-scale program of the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), which partners are implementing in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity.
The aid includes more than 60,000 non-food items, including blankets, rugs, pillows, mattresses, seasonal clothing, etc. It will be used to support social and medical institutions that care for the elderly, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups, to set up shelters in educational institutions, to provide social services in communities, and to support internally displaced persons, in particular by setting up temporary accommodation centers.
"I am grateful to our international partners for their consistent and comprehensive response to the challenges faced by civilians during the war and for sending aid where it is most needed. Such assistance is particularly relevant now, so that people can get through the winter more comfortably," said Denys Uliutin, Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine.
It should be noted that the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Dnipropetrovsk region is part of the UNHCR program to strengthen the social sphere at the local level. In the future, the aid will be scaled up to Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and other regions.
