The success of Ukraine is a shared interest of all international stakeholders, which takes into account not only the economic aspect of cooperation, but also the security. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman announced during the Second Ukraine Reform Conference taking place today, June 27, in Copenhagen.
"Today we have to answer a question: What Ukraine we want to see? The Ukrainians have already responded: with predictable processes and with a strong economy. Most in this assembly hall would like to see Ukraine like this. But do we invest enough effort to get this prospect?" Volodymyr Groysman adressed the Conference participants. "Presently, we need to analyze the programs we have. And I suggest creating a high-level group and assessing the state of affairs, shaping an action plan, determining what tools prove necessary to ensure sustainable development. We have got into a quality dialogue to find efficient and transparent solutions. I call for the joint action to prolong and ensure success."
The Head of Government stressed that today the scale of planning and support should expand. He reminded that last year in London, during the First Conference, the Government of Ukraine and international partners outlined a plan comprising five reforms, of which 4 have been actively implemented. Those are the reform of education, healthcare, the pension system, and privatization. "We have triggered the change and opened up opportunities. We advance along this path, and for the eighth consecutive quarter, we are getting economic growth. We have serious missions, and most importantly, we strive to ensure people could feel that changes are brought about for their benefit", said Volodymyr Groysman.
In this regard, in the opinion of the Prime Minister, it is important to raise security issues apart from social issues. Whereby not only in terms of countering aggression, but also in terms of providing resources - primarily energy.
"We live in the environment where we must defend our democratic values, hence we must develop stamina, predictability and vigour. And here energy security issues are becoming of paramount importance on the agenda. This year we have opened up new opportunities for achieving energy independence", said Volodymyr Groysman. "And just as before Ukraine is capable of providing transit and gas delivery to our partners. And this is our important mission."
The Prime Minister assured that the path of reform for the Government of Ukraine is irreversible. "We continue to reboot the public administration system, strengthen decentralization. We have already had first results", said Volodymyr Groysman. "I believe in the power of the Ukrainian Government, I believe in the potential of Ukrainian society, in the Ukrainian expert community. We should unite our endeavours to make changes lasting. Our joint success will enable uninterrupted progress."
