Today, on November 11, during the Conciliation Council’s meeting at the Verkhovna Rada, Oleksiy Honcharuk called on the MPs to embark on a constructive dialogue regarding the draft State Budget for 2020.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine noted that the Government had compensated for the lack of direct financing for particular budget programs through asymmetric decisions and, at the same time, provided for the implementation of priorities: education, medicine, social sphere, sports, etc.
“In the process of revision of the Budget 2020 to prepare for the second reading in the Parliament, propositions to the tune of hundreds of billions of hryvnias had been submitted and we were forced to choose topmost priorities. Meanwhile, we left no question unanswered. For example, in the projects for financing schools we have included funds for the construction of sports grounds, hub schools in the regions to the tune of over UAH 3 billion,” Oleksiy Honcharuk emphasized.
The Head of Government stressed that in case exceptions arise regarding priority expenditures in the State Budget-2020 draft, the Government is readiness and urges the MPs to engage in the constructive dialogue.
"We are ready to discuss them with the factions separately, to meet, this whole week we will be engaged in active communication with the MPs at most in order to get our very clear budget priorities across. It is essential to speed up the process while the format can be determined," stressed the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
