Gov’t has allocated UAH 12.5 million to citizens affected by the anti-terror operation
Today, November 10, at a regular meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to allocate UAH 12.5 million to the Ministry of Veterans Affairs to provide one-time financial assistance to victims of the anti-terror operation (ATO).
Of this amount, it is planned to provide assistance to family members of 4 people who died and 14 people who became disabled as a result of ATO. The funding will be allocated from the reserve fund of the state budget.
Since the beginning of the year, the Government has allocated more than UAH 112 million to provide assistance to citizens who became victims of the anti-terror operation.
Background
Payment is made in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from 29.04.2016 № 336 in line with the Law of Ukraine "On the status of war veterans, guarantees of their social protection" on the assigning and payment of one-time cash benefits to certain categories of persons in case of death or injury, concussion or illness acquired during participation in an anti-terror operation, implementation of measures to ensure national security and defense, repulse and deter armed aggression of the Russian Federation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
One-time assistance in case of disability depending on the disability group is paid in the following amounts: Group I - 400, Group II - 300, Group III - 250 subsistence minimums. In case of death, the benefit is 750 subsistence minimums established by law for able-bodied persons on January 1 of the calendar year of death. As of January 1, 2021, the subsistence level for able-bodied persons is UAH 2,270 hryvnias.
