The Government has approved with finalizing a pilot project on the possibility for people with passports in the form of a book to register their place of residence in electronic form using the Diia website. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
"The online residence registration service will be available for those Ukrainians who have book-shaped passports. Currently, the relevant service is already available for ID-card holders," said Denys Shmyhal.
In addition, the Head of Government said that foreigners in Ukraine will also be able to use electronic services. The Cabinet of Ministers supported the introduction of the relevant pilot project on November 10.
"As a result of this decision, the Diia will provide a temporary or permanent residence permit. Everything will work by analogy with the e-passport, but instead, the information from the foreigner's ID card will be displayed," the Prime Minister said.
According to Denys Shmyhal, such an experimental project will make it possible for a more comfortable and convenient stay for foreign citizens in Ukraine, as well as improve the image of our country as an open and modern state.
