Today, August 4, at a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, a decision was made to allocate UAH 15.3 million to the Ministry of Veterans' Affairs of Ukraine to provide one-time financial assistance to victims of the anti-terror operation. The relevant project was developed and submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers for consideration by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
Of this amount, it is planned to provide assistance to family members of 2 people who died and 21 people who became disabled during the anti-terror operation. The funds will be allotted from the reserve fund of the state budget.
"The Government continues to take measures to provide financial support to citizens affected by the anti-terror operation and their families. Since the beginning of the year, more than UAH 88 million have been allocated for these purposes," said Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Mykhailo Lev.
Payment is made in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 29.04.2016 № 336 in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On the status of war veterans, guarantees of their social protection" on the appointment and payment of one-time cash benefits to certain categories of persons in case of death or disability as a result of injury, blast injury, mutilation or illness acquired during participation in an anti-terror operation, implementation of measures to ensure national security and defense, repulse and deter armed aggression of the Russian Federation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
One-time assistance in case of disability, depending on the disability group, is paid in the following amounts: Group I - 400, Group II - 300, Group III - 250 subsistence minimums. In case of death, the assistance is 750 subsistence minimums established by law for able-bodied persons on January 1 of the calendar year when death occurred. As of January 1, 2021, the subsistence level for able-bodied persons amounts to UAH 2,270.
