The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the draft law, which will allow to increase the minimum subsistence level in the future, according to preliminary calculations up to UAH 4,200 per month. This will allow to raise the incomes of the least affluent citizens without automatically increase of the rates of state fees, payments, fines and other financial indicators. This is an important step in the fight against poverty in Ukraine.
"Previously, every increase in the subsistence minimum had brought more finances not only to those who needed them. The increase automatically triggered increase in government payments, fines, fees for certain types of government services, and more. The abolition of this obsoleteSoviet norm will finally allow us to start a real fight against poverty in Ukraine", Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk commented on the decision.
