
Government approved and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill on ratification of the Agreement between Ukraine and Germany on housing for IDPs
Government has approved the draft law "On the Ratification of Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on Financial Cooperation" (project "Housing for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)") and submitted it to the Verkhovna Rada for ratification.
The Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of Germany on financial cooperation for the project "Housing for Internally Displaced Persons" was signed on June 3, 2020 by the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine / Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Ms. Anka Feldhusen.
After the Ukrainian Parliament votes in favor of the bill, Germany will provide EUR 25.5 million to Ukraine through the German state-owned development bank KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau) for the implementation of the project "Housing for Internally Displaced Persons", which aims to provide permanent housing for Ukrainian citizens who have been forced to flee their homes due to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
It is envisaged that on average IDPs will be able to obtain a loan for commissioned housing in the amount of approximately EUR 40,000 for up to 20 years on favorable terms - 3% interest per annum calculated 63 square meters of area per family.
