  • Government approves housing programs on terms of financial lease for employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
Information and Communication Department of the Secretariat of the CMU, posted 14 November 2018 12:51

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the housing programs for employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine - police and rescuers - on terms of financial lease. The corresponding decision was endorsed by the Government. The program envisages sufficient government assistance for provision of housing to the staff of the Ministry.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, at present State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) employs over 54 thousand people, and  the police- 140 thousand people. Moreover, the queue for apartments - exclusively among those who have the right to accommodation- is 80 people of those working at the SESU per one apartment and 40 people at the police. So, everyone who is now in the apartment queue can count on receiving housing in 50-80 years.

It is clear that such a prospect essentially demotivates employees who risk life every day in order to ensure peaceful situation in Ukraine. That is why the Ministry of Internal Affairs has developed a program of financial leasing, the term of which will be from 2 to 20 years. The percentage of compensation of lease payments  will amount to 30-40%, herewith the remuneration for the lessor will be fully paid by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Commenting on approval of the decision, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman sressed that this is a good and motivational initiative and he also reminded that salaries of employees will increase next year.
