The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has agreed and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine a draft law on the transfer of 500 thousand hectares of agricultural land to the ownership of 23 thousand Ukrainian farmers who engage in cultivation activities. The corresponding decision was aired by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.
"Ukrainian land should be owned by Ukrainian citizens, while agricultural land - by farmers. We are introducing a bill that restores justice to farmers. We are approving and submit the draft law that will allow 500 thousand hectares of land be transferred to the property of 23 thousand farmers who cultivate this land, but still had no right to own it", stressed Volodymyr Groysman.
He reminded that this year the Government pays special attention to the development of Ukrainian farmery. Among the tools introduced are a Government subsidy program for farmers in the amount of UAH 1 billion, mechanisms to reduce the cost of technology for farmers and help on various segments of production.
"I urge to unite behind an idea of supporting farming", the Head of Government added.
