Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Head of the Reforms Delivery Office within the Cabinet of Ministers Oleksandr Saienko chaired the second meeting of the Working Group on privatization, during which the team prolonged the work on the list of key enterprises subject for privatization in 2018.
Participating in the meeting were Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk, the Managing Director for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus for the EBRD Francis Malige, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Maxym Nefiodov, representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, acting Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine Vitalii Trubarov, members of the Strategic Advisory Group for Supporting Ukrainian Reforms (SAGSUR) and international experts.
On the outcomes of the meeting, a draft plan for major privatization was approved. It was decided that the State Property Fund would submit it for consideration at one of the upcoming Government meetings. The participants heard information from the Fund that had agreed a list of small enterprises subject for privatization, which would be sold for the first time through transparent electronic auctions under the new rules. The Fund was commissioned to ensure the privatization be carried out transparently and in the interests of the state budget.
Members of the Working Group also heard representatives of the Ernst & Young company, which had been chosen as adviser in the privatization of Centerenergo.
Moreover, the attendees heard an interim report on the privatization of the Odesa Portside Plant. It was decided at the next meeting to consider in detail the presentations of top investment advisers on possible ways and approaches to privatization of this strategic object.
