  • Government proposes to strengthen consumer protection on the Internet, says Prime Minister

    Consumer security, inter alia of every Ukrainian, is one of the main priorities of the state and the Government, as the consumer is the main investor in the country's economy. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal made this statement during a Government meeting on September 22.

    The Cabinet of Ministers has supported an updated version of the draft law "On Consumer Protection", which is in line with European best practices.

    "Today, there is a problem when a person cannot complain or return a product bought online. Therefore, we propose to change this by introducing a mechanism for voluntary identification of the seller in the register of online stores," Denys Shmyhal underscored.

    According to the Prime Minister, the adoption of a new version of the law will allow to reach a qualitatively new level of ensuring and protecting the rights of consumers, as it eliminates a number of gaps, in particular in the field of e-commerce.
