Today, January 27, at its meeting, the Government has approved an order developed by the Ministry of Infrastructure "On making proposals for the application and amendment of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)." It provides for the introduction of sanctions against 13 Russian airlines with a total ban on flights over Ukraine’s territory for a period of 3 years.
Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii told.
"Despite the fact that starting from March 28, 2014, and until today, the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea was permanently banned from using the airspace of Ukraine, some air carriers dare to violate this rule. With today's decision we offer to approve and submit to the National Security and Defense Council proposals on the imposition of new sanctions with a total ban on flights over Ukraine to 13 air carriers of the Russian Federation that violate the use of Ukrainian airspace by flying within the restricted zone over the temporarily occupied Crimea and Sevastopol. The term of their application is 3 years," the Minister said.
We are talking about the complete cessation of transit of resources, flights and transportation through the territory of Ukraine. According to the order, the Government will propose the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to consider these propositions within a month.
