  • Government digitizes a number of bureaucratic procedures
Information and Communication Department of the Secretariat of the CMU, posted 15 November 2019 22:26

Today, on November 15, the Government continued the process of digitalization of bureaucratic procedures and documents.

It will also be possible to have the lost or stolen driver's licenses reissued through an online procedure. They will soon be available through the driver's electronic office or through the Unified State Portal of Administrative Services. The new rules currently apply to new model certificates issued after January 1, 2013.

Apart from that, the Government has approved a bill designed to simplify the obtaining of free legal aid for low-income citizens. One can appeal for such assistance without an income statement. Obtaining such a document is time-consuming and requires a lot of effort. The draft law will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada shortly.

With another decision, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has introduced compensation for postal services as a result of legal expenses for low-income citizens. It allows the counsels at law to obtain reimbursement for postal expenses in cases where they provide free legal assistance to low-income and socially vulnerable groups. In particular, the state will reimburse the cost of sending letters of recommendation in appeals proceedings previously paid by the citizens. This will improve the quality of legal aid to the people who cannot afford it.
