The Government has made it possible to provide the subvention for the socio-economic development of the regions to combat COVID-19 as a priority funding.
The corresponding amendments to the Procedure and conditions for granting a subvention for the socio-economic development of the regions are enshrined in a Resolution adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting on April 8.
These changes stipulate for, in particular, the primary direction of the subvention on the implementation of measures aimed at combating coronavirus infection.
Besides, the Resolution provides for the elimination of the obligation to co-finance from local budgets for projects and activities financed from subvention.
Therefore, the Government provided the regions with an additional financial instrument to counteract the spread of coronavirus infection. By eliminating mandatory co-financing of projects from local budgets, the subvention should be used by regions more efficiently, according to the needs and priorities identified within the regions.
