Local budgets will receive funds to cover the difference in tariffs for heating and repay the debt to Naftogaz, stated Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. The procedure and conditions for granting such a subvention were approved by the Government at its session on December 15.

According to the Prime Minister, receiving the funds will allow heat suppliers to get rid of debts and start modernizing their enterprises.

"Fulfillment of these conditions is provided for in the Memorandum with local authorities. The Government meets its obligations. For their part, the city heads have pledged not to raise tariffs for heat and hot water for people this heating season," said Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister also assures that the autumn-winter period is stable, Ukraine has a sufficient amount of energy resources, and tariffs for the population, as was promised, will not increase.
