Government extends term for employers in frontline regions to receive compensation for hiring IDPs
The Government has increased the period during which employers in frontline regions and regions most affected by the full-scale war will receive compensation for hiring internally displaced persons (IDPs).
According to the resolution developed by the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture and approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, employers shall receive compensation for 6 months instead of 3, as was previously determined.
Please note that the program will be extended to employers operating in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions.
"We strive to provide longer-term support to employers and, at the same time, contribute to preserving jobs and the economic potential of regions affected by the war. It is also important that, thanks to the changes, more IDPs will have the chance to find stable employment. In addition, the program will become more accessible, as we have simplified the requirements for applying for compensation. Now, applications can be submitted to the employment center not only at the legal address of the enterprise, but also at the place of operation of the employer," emphasized Oleksii Sobolev, Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine.
It should be noted that compensation is paid in the amount of the minimum wage (currently UAH 8,000) for each employed IDP for whom a single social contribution is paid.
