Government approves monthly payments for defenders awarded the Cross of Military Merit

The amount of such assistance will be 1.5 times the minimum wage as of January 1 of the relevant year. Currently, this amounts to UAH 12,000 per month.
The resolution defines the conditions for the awarding and payment of such benefits.
If a person is entitled to benefits for several awards, they can receive only one — in the amount they choose. In particular:
- the Order of the Golden Star — UAH 24,000;
- the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky (I-III degrees) — UAH 16,000;
- the Order For Courage (I-III degrees) and the Order of Princess Olga (I-III degrees) — UAH 8,000;
- the Cross of Military Merit — UAH 12,000.
The Cross of Military Merit is a state award established by the Decree of the President of Ukraine for outstanding personal bravery and courage or an outstanding heroic deed during the performance of a combat mission in conditions of danger to life and direct contact with the enemy, as well as outstanding successes in the management of troops.
